World Autism Understanding Month

World Autism Understanding Month (WAUM) is a time to move beyond awareness and build practical understanding of autism. Since 2021, Aspect has celebrated World Autism Understanding Day (early April), recognising Autistic people, celebrating strengths, and encouraging a shift from awareness to understanding. In 2026, this has grown into a full month, recognising that meaningful understanding takes time. By taking time to learn, reflect and act, we can help create environments where Autistic people feel understood, included and supported — not just for one day, but every day.
