Library Services Officer - Bendigo

Would you like to join the team at the Bendigo Library?  Are you: 

  • Passionate about early years literacy and able to plan and run storytime, school holiday and outreach sessions?
  • Digitally literate?
  • Experienced in working with diverse ages, groups and communities?
  • Skilled in customer service?

This position will work as part of a team across the full range of library services including day to day operations, program delivery, community relations, collection access and information services.

The role is ongoing, 0.73 EFT (50.75 hours per fortnight), Band 4 ($59,659.60 - $64,318.80 per annum pro rata).  Work hours will be rostered across the library opening hours and will include regular evening (until 6 or 7pm) and Saturday shifts.

A current Working with Children’s Check is essential.

Community Library Officer

We have two exciting opportunities to join our Community Based Services team in ongoing roles. We are looking to fill 1.2 EFT, therefore will consider applicants wishing to work full time or part time and are flexible about what configuration this might take across the available EFT.

These Community Library Officer roles will support the delivery of library services and programs at our eight agencies across Loddon Shire and Greater Bendigo, at Heathcote Library, and to institutions and housebound individuals across all four member municipalities. A driver licence is a must, with regular travel required to support Library Agencies and Heathcote Library. Hours will be spread from Monday to Friday, and also include a Saturday morning shift in Heathcote for one of the applicants.

These positions will have responsibilities for:  

  • Customer Service – effective first line response to agency partners, volunteers and library users in person, by telephone or email.
  • Agencies and Heathcote – maintain the agency collections by use of Collection HQ software, rotating the collections held at agencies and delivering and collecting reserves. Deliver digital literacy training, storytime and other programs at the agencies and in the community. Develop – and provide guidance and informal training to volunteers on – displays, returns, reserves, collections, and programs.
  • Home Library Service – support operations by providing service to Home Library recipients, volunteers and branch staff in person, by phone or email and maintaining Home Library administrative processes.

A current Working with Children’s Check and Driver's Licence are essential.
