Community Connections Program

Goldfields Libraries has partnered with Bendigo Community Health Services (BCHS) and the City of Greater Bendigo to host a Community Connections Worker at Bendigo Library.
Karl Quast is available to support those who are vulnerable or experiencing disadvantage to connect with the support services they need. This includes accessing health care (including mental and dental health), food relief, identification documents and more.
With rising costs of living, homelessness and mental health challenges, many people are turning to libraries as safe, welcoming spaces with free access to Wi-Fi and computer services. Karl’s presence builds on this by offering practical, person-centred assistance directly in the library.
This is a free, confidential service. To get in touch with Karl, please call Bendigo Library on 5449 2700.
The Community Connections project is a collaboration between Goldfields Library Corporation, Bendigo Community Health Services, and the City of Greater Bendigo. Initial seed funding was provided through the Department of Justice and Community.
