Big news for young readers and their grown-ups! Goldfields Libraries is excited to be hosting the first stop on the national launch tour for the 2026-2027 Australian Children’s Laureate.

    Artist and illustrator Bill Hope visits Bendigo Library for a morning of creative silliness. Free bookings here.

    Join new Children’s Laureate Andy Griffiths at Bendigo Town Hall for an afternoon of fun and activities. Free bookings here.

Don’t miss Andy’s first appearance as the newly appointed Laureate! Best known for his iconic Treehouse series and the soon-to-be-released Let’s Go series, this award‑winning Australian children’s author will bring his signature energy, humour, and imagination to a lively, interactive session.

Expect laughs, creativity, and plenty of fun for the whole family. A celebration of stories, creativity and imagination not to be missed!

Plus – illustrator Bill Hope will bring the magic to life with live illustration throughout the session.

  • Stay afterwards to meet Andy and enjoy book sales and signings.
  • An Auslan interpreter will be present.

Join illustrator Bill Hope for a fun morning of drawing. Bill will help kids work through some creative exercises developed with Andy Griffiths for their new book Let’s Go! There will be some live drawing from Bill and a general atmosphere of artistic silliness.
