Bendigo and Woodend libraries will host celebrated Australian authors and ‘Meno-women’ Dr Rachel Matthews, Trish Bolton, and special guests for Menopause is Not a Use-By-Date, a spirited evening of female storytelling in celebration of Women’s Health Week.
The whip-sharp duo is set to bring the week to a lively finale with stories of life, love, and sexuality in later years, proving that ageing isn’t about fading away—it’s about soaring!
Two sessions will be held:
• Woodend Library – Thursday, 4 September, 5.30-7pm, featuring special guest Dr Sian Prior
• Bendigo Library – Friday, 5 September, 5.30-7pm, featuring special guest Carmel Bird
Tammy Higgs, Goldfields Libraries Programs and Events Coordinator, says the event is ideal for women approaching or experiencing menopause to get a fresh perspective on what it means to embrace the change of life with gusto and good humour.
“This year’s Women’s Health Week theme is ‘Say yes to you,’ and we’d love to see local women with front row seats to this engaging and empowering event.
“We’re asking ‘Meno-women’ not to shy away from this once-whispered topic but get excited about the next chapter of their lives. These sessions are celebrations of women’s stories – funny, heartfelt, and beautifully told. They’re a chance to connect, reflect, and enjoy an evening of lively conversation with wonderful company,” she says.
