Voting has begun for Pick My Project - a state-wide grant funding process to procure funds for local community projects – and Castlemaine Library is in the running!

The Library’s project idea is a simple one; it aims to fix the floor of the beautiful, historic building, install new carpet, and provide new, movable shelving and wayfinding signage for the entire library.

The search is on for Australia’s next Poetry Slam champion! On Saturday 4 August, Victorians will have the opportunity to witness, first-hand, the excitement of the 2018 Australian Poetry Slam, and compete if they dare!

Woodend Library will host a Victoria heat of this year’s competition at the Woodend RSL.

Kids and teens under 18 are encouraged to read down their library fines these winter school holidays. The Read Down Your Fines program gives children the opportunity to decrease or remove overdue charges by simply reading in the library for Dewey Dollars.

Victorian author Mark Brandi will visit Gisborne, Bendigo and Heathcote Libraries, and Wedderburn Library Agency as part of the High Road to Reading program this June. Mark will talk about his award-winning first novel Wimmera.
