Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log into my library account?

  1. Go to the online catalogue at https://goldfields.spydus.com/, or click on the catalogue tab above.
  2. Click the login button in the top right-hand corner
  3. Enter the barcode number on the back of your library card (with no spaces), and your PIN. (For help with your PIN, please contact your local library)
  4. Click Login.

How many items can I borrow and for how long?

How long do I have to pick up my reserved item(s)?

Your item will be held for 10 days after the notification is sent. After this time, it will be re-allocated to the next person on the waitlist or returned to our shelves.

How many items can I reserve?

You can up to 50 items reserved on your account at once.

Do I need to bring anything with me to collect my items?

Please make sure to wear a mask, bring your library card or photo ID with an address, and a bag to carry your items.

Can I pop in and print something or use a computer?

Yes. Please make sure to contact your local library ahead of time to book a computer and avoid disappointment. 

I need some tech help. Can I drop by during open hours?

Yes, on-on-one tech help is now available. Please call your local library to book a time.

Can I return my library items?

Yes. Returns chutes and boxes are now open.

Are returned items still being quarantined?

No, we are no longer quarantining returned items.

How do I sign up for a library membership?

To become a library member you can visit your local branch, or get started online. To get started online, follow the steps below.

  1. Click here to register online
  2. Read and accept the Membership Terms and Conditions
  3. Fill in the new member form
  4. Once the registration is complete, visit your local library to pick up your library card for immediate, full access to our complete range of services.
