Local writing award calls for entries

Calling all writers!

Goldfields Libraries and the Eaglehawk Dahlia & Arts Festival are calling for entries from writers all over Australia for the annual Mulga Bill Writing Awards.

The 2022 festival celebrates 50 years of the Dahlia + Arts, and writers are encouraged to take inspiration from the theme ‘celebration’ and submit a poem or short story.

Writers of all skill levels are encouraged to apply, with prizes awarded for the best two in each category.

Short Story (up to 2000 words)
$500 first prize, $150 second prize.
Winners selected by local writer and author, Lauren Mitchell.

Poetry (up to 25 lines)
$200 first prize, $50 second prize.
Winners selected by award-winning poet and writer, Lorraine Marwood.
