Our libraries are open!

Missed us?  We’ve missed you. We’re back !

We are delighted to be able to slowly re-open our libraries and offer limited services and hours, following State Government guidelines. Romsey Library remains closed but is still offering click & collect. Please read more below. 

Up to 20 people inside at a time (where space allows – may be less for smaller agencies)
30 minute time limit
Please bring your library card or identification
Please do not come to the library if you are unwell
You will need to sign in to allow us to keep track of numbers, and for COVID contact tracing if needed.* 

*NB:  We will destroy these records after 28 days and will not use your personal information for any other purpose.

Please bring a bag to carry your items.

What is available in our library buildings:

  • Access to the some parts of the collection
  • Public computers
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning
  • Free wifi

What is not yet available in our buildings:

  • Newspapers
  • Face to face programs, including story times
  • 1:1 computer help
  • Room bookings

What is available online:


  • Returns chutes / boxes are now open, where these are available.
  • Your items will remain on your account for 72 hours after return while they are quarantined.
  • Items borrowed prior to library COVID-19 closures will be due on 15th June.

  • No overdue fines will be incurred for now.

What we are doing to look after your safety:

You will be asked to use hand sanitiser at the library entrance
You will be asked to keep to the 1.5m distancing rule
You will be asked to sign in so we can contact you if we learn about any Coronavirus on site
We will be quarantining all items for 72 hours after they are returned through the book chutes
We will be regularly sanitising keyboards, computer mice and common areas

Our librarians are still here to help via the phone, e-mail and we have some great online resources and events.  Stay in touch via Facebook, sign up to our eNewsletter, send us an e-mail or leave us a message and a friendly librarian will call you back.
