Help with Job Seeking in the Digital Age

Wednesday 18 October 2017

The face of job seeking has changed significantly in recent years with the advent of the digital age. Anyone finding themselves in the situation of seeking a job is now faced with a myriad of options online, and knowing where to start can be challenging.

Enter: online expert Stefania Cola, founder of Bendigo based website design company Doomsday Tuna. Stefania will run five sessions at Goldfields Libraries which will show participants the best online job seeking tools. The workshops will cover job seeking, resume creation and submitting applications online.

“The internet has opened up a world of opportunity, but it has also made it much harder for individuals to pin point the exact information they are seeking,” said Jess Saunders, Goldfields Library Corporation Acting Programs and Events Manager.

“Statistically about 50% of job vacancies are advertised online, so the opportunities are out there, it’s just a matter of learning the skills to find them. Stefania’s workshops will give participants the right information and tools to refine their online job seeking skills,” said Ms Saunders.

Sessions will run at Castlemaine, Bendigo, Romsey, Kyneton and Eaglehawk Libraries later in October through to November.

All sessions are free and bookings are required via www.ncgrl.vic.gov.au/jobseeking
