Session Information

Session 1 will demonstrate how simple drawing leads to a flow of written memories (absolutely no artistic skill required). These first memory pieces will help us begin to tell our stories. We will also explore how storing our first efforts in quirky visual journals, not only provides creative containers for our 'pieces', but leads to a creative flow.

Session 2 will focus on letter writing and how writing letters, revisiting  letters, notes and cards we have received, can help us draw out important memories and tell stories we may have forgotten. We will also consider what the simple things we have stashed in draws, cupboards and wardrobes tell about periods of our lives.

Session 3 will explore how our collective and personal ancestors have impacted on our lives. We will consider whose shoulders we stand upon and begin to develop portraits of the people who have helped shape our lives.

Session 4 will play with symbolism and explore how imagery in books, magazines and on cards can help draw out long forgotten memories.
