Broaden Your Technological Horizons at Your Local Library!

Tuesday 12 September 2017

Your local Goldfields Library is the perfect place to broaden your technological horizons! Free Online Learning Workshops are run on a wide range of relevant and interesting technology topics each season in small groups, with friendly library staff.

Some of the sessions focus on products available in the Goldfields Libraries eLibrary. eLibrary products are available to members free of charge with their library card number. Most products are available anywhere online and are compatible with most devices.

Topics coming up in Spring include learning how to use eBooks and audio books; Microsoft Word basics; Facebook basics; an introduction to Mango Languages online language learning resource; eResources for families and kids; tips and tricks to improve your Google searching; an introduction to the Lynda.com online learning video suite; an introduction to the Ancestry family history website; and how to navigate the Goldfields Libraries website.

“We’re pleased to be increasingly moving into the technological space, offering the community a wide range of Online Learning Workshops delivered by our knowledgeable library staff in small, intimate groups,” said Tammy Higgs, Goldfields Library Corporation Programs and Events Coordinator.

“Each season we are offering different programs, some using in our eLibrary collection and others using popular programs such as Facebook, Google and Word, offering people the opportunity to get up to speed with the ever changing technology landscape,” said Ms Higgs.

The workshops will be held at a number of different libraries and details can be found on pages 12-13 of the Goldfields Libraries Spring Program: www.ncgrl.vic.gov.au/seasonalprogram

All sessions are free and bookings are required via www.goldfieldslibraries.com
