Be Serenaded by Orchestra Victoria at Bendigo Library!

Wednesday 10 August 2016

Goldfields Libraries is delighted to welcome Orchestra Victoria back for three free chamber concerts at Bendigo Library from Tuesday 23 – Thursday 25 August.

The concert series is part of the week-long Orchestra Victoria Bendigo Festival and is earmarked as a major classical music highlight for regional Victoria this winter.

Each day’s concert will commence at 2pm, and will centre around a different theme. Tuesday’s concert is titled Two’s Company, Wednesday’s is Brass and Friends and Thursday’s is Larking About.

“Last year’s Orchestra Victoria performances were a real coup for Goldfields Libraries, with hundreds of people attending throughout the series,” said Mark Hands, Community Partnerships and Engagement Manager.

“We are thrilled that Orchestra Victoria has decided to return to the region, and especially delighted that they will perform at Bendigo Library once again, inspiring the community to connect with music.”

As part of the Bendigo Festival, Orchestra Victoria will also perform free concerts at St Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Bendigo Art Gallery, the Golden Dragon Museum, The Capital, Elmore Memorial Hall, Sacred Heart Cathedral and Bendigo Town Hall. Ulumbarra Theatre will host the Symphony Orchestra Concert: Arabian Nights and Other Exotic Tales during the Festival.

Following Orchestra Victoria’s performances, Bendigo NETschool students will perform ambient tunes from 3pm each day.

The Bendigo Library performances are free, and bookings are not required. Further information can be found at: www.ncgrl.vic.gov.au/orchestravictoria
