Featuring special guests, workshops and creative spaces for carers, Bendigo Cares aims to provide opportunities for carers within the City of Greater Bendigo to connect with eachother and share their experiences in a warm, welcoming environment.

Connecting the dots ~ A life lived well with different abilities

Join us for a wonderful online conversation with highly respected nomadic Elder, artist and storyteller Uncle Alan Parsons. Uncle Alan will share stories about living with a physical disability from birth and overcoming barriers and challenges to live a rich, independent and giving life with community at its heart. Uncle Alan is of the Bidjira people from Carnarvon Gorge.

Rachel Callander ~ Life, love and awesomeness

Rachel is a TEDx presenter, award-winning artist and author of two books – Super Power Baby Project and Super Power Kids. These exceptional books celebrate the lives and abilities of children with a range of disabilities inspired by Rachel’s late daughter Evie, born with a rare chromosomal condition. Rachel will share her learnings as a parent of a child with superpowers and encourage us all to identify our awesomeness as carers, parents, friends and humans.

Fill Your Cup ~ Self-care and wellbeing during tough times

Now more than ever it’s important to look after our own wellbeing – especially for those of us who are taking care of others. In this free interactive online session, Shobie Owen from The Anna Centre will delve into the impact of stress, tips and strategies to combat stress and uncertainty, and building self-care into our busy schedules.

Chaos to Calm

A wonderful opportunity to learn from the wisdom of leading Australian life coaches and wellness educators Shannah Kennedy and Lyndall Mitchell. This virtual workshop allows you to come back to core life and wellness skills; learning daily practises to reduce stress and reflect on life plans, upgrade your self-care, understand the science of habits and create new pathways for optimum wellbeing.

Shannah and Lyndall are co-authors of Restore: 20 self-care rituals to reclaim your energy and Ignite: 20 tools to fire up your life.
