Mindfulness Colouring Competition a Hit!

Thursday 10 March 2016

Goldfields Libraries is delighted with the tremendous response to its inaugural Mindfulness Colouring Competition held in January. A range of colourful, high quality entries was submitted by a variety of age groups.

The competition was split into three categories, with two winners in each plus a Regional Champion. Results were as follows:

Regional Champion:
Alex Lim – Bendigo Library

Adult category winners:
Susan Lacuore – Castlemaine Library
Danni Moore – Castlemaine Library

Teen category winners:
Caitlin Bissett – Kangaroo Flat Library
Abigail Meadows – Castlemaine Library

Children category:
Lily Ford – Heathcote Library
Katelyn Holmes – Kangaroo Flat Library

“Goldfields Libraries would like to thank all participants and congratulates Alex Lim, the Regional Champion, on his wonderful submission!” says Tammy Higgs, Goldfields Libraries Programs and Events Coordinator.

“The standard of entries for the competition was very impressive, and selecting a winner was no easy task!” says Ms Higgs.

Mindfulness colouring is currently very popular as a creative activity, and has the underlying benefits of reducing stress and anxiety levels in children and adults of all ages.

The winning entries can be viewed in some Goldfields Library branches, and online at www.ncgrl.vic.gov.au/mindfulness

All winners received a very appropriate prize – a mindfulness colouring book to continue refining their colouring skills!
