Bendigo Library is now home to a large native aquarium celebrating the Bendigo Creek.

The impressive aquarium measures over three metres long and is home to a selection of small-bodied native fish and vegetation, including the southern pygmy perch, Murray darling rainbow fish, dwarf flathead gudgeon and Australian smelt.

Goldfields Libraries is proud to join the growing number of public libraries no longer charging late fees for overdue items.

The change was officially implemented on July 1, 2022, but the library service hasn’t charged overdue fines since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Calling all writers!

Goldfields Libraries and the Eaglehawk Dahlia & Arts Festival are calling for entries from writers all over Australia for the annual Mulga Bill Writing Awards.

The 2022 festival celebrates 50 years of the Dahlia + Arts, and writers are encouraged to take inspiration from the theme ‘celebration’ and submit a poem or short story.

Kangaroo Flat will receive its biggest street art project to date this September thanks to a joint project between Goldfields Libraries, Anglicare, Bike Bendigo and local street artist collective Nacho Station. Funding has been provided by Healthy Heart of Victoria.
