Notable Historian Geoffrey Blainey takes fresh look at Australia’s early history

Distinguished historian Dr Geoffrey Blainey will visit Bendigo Library in April to discuss his latest work The Story of Australia’s People Volume 1: The Rise and Fall of Ancient Australia.

His new work presents a detailed history of Australia's people, from ancient times to the Gold Rush and is the first part of an ambitious and exciting two volume work on Australia’s history from its origins to present day.

Geoffrey Blainey is one of Australia's most significant and popular historians. He has written 36 full-length books including The Tyranny of Distance, Triumph of the Nomads, Black Kettle and Full Moon, Sea of Dangers and the best-selling A Short History of the World.

“Geoffrey Blainey is a notable historian and a highly engaging speaker who often appears in lists of the most influential Australians past or present.

“His visit to the Bendigo Library will excite anyone with an interest in Australia and its history” Ms Waugh says.

Dr Geoffrey Blainey will be appearing at the Bendigo Library on Thursday 16 April 6-7pm. His discussion will be followed by a book signing and refreshments.
